It is the Parks and Recreation Department's mission to provide great parks, natural areas, and recreational experiences to enhance the lives of the residents of Claremont.

The City of Claremont operates and maintains a 14 acre park which includes horseshoe pits, playground equipment, a paved quarter-mile walking trail, picnic and pavilion areas and an amphitheater.

2020 Claremont Event Schedule

Dear Claremont Community,

Over the course of the last month or so, City staff have received numerous inquiries concerning the status of our usual summer/fall celebrations here in the City. While other local governments have already made some of these decisions, we felt it best to wait until the last possible moment to ensure we did not cancel events that are so well received in the absence of the most up to date information. Sadly, based on band availability, deposit requirements and planning time frames, the time to decide is now.

As of the City Council meeting last night, The City of Claremont has elected to cancel all events scheduled between now and October 31, 2020. This includes our Night at the Park Celebration, Claremont Daze, and our Halloween Fun Fest.

As much as we desperately want to go on as planned, we recognize that we must put the health and safety of our performers, vendors, volunteers, community partners, sponsors, and citizens first. As we’ve watched the COVID-19 pandemic unfold, with all the uncertainty it holds for the near future, we could not in good conscience hold a festival or event that would bring in people from all over and would put them within close proximity to each other.

As with many decisions being made during the pandemic, we realize that ours adds another devastating blow to the people who look forward to our events each year. Sadly, it simply cannot be helped. We must put the health, safety and well being of people first. We will revisit our December events in October with the information available at that time.

We look forward to working with you all once we have moved past this global crisis and making many happy memories together again.
