Getting Started with Trash & Recycling
Our new roll-out waste and recycling collection program will result in a cleaner more attractive as well as safer working conditions for our collectors. The new garbage and recycling collection systems uses on type of container that will be emptied by automated equipment, making the process faster and safer.
Recycling is collected every other week on Wednesdays, check the recycling calendar or the calendar on the homepage for recycling collection days. Your current 18-gallon bin will no longer be collected, but you may re-purpose it or simply recycle it.
Please Be Sure You:
- Place your container out by 6:00 am on Wednesdays
- Place your container within 4 ft of the curb or roadway with the handle and wheels facing away from the street, making sure there is at least 4 ft of clear space around your cart.
- Place all items in the carts for collection
Garbage Collection is provided with in the city limits. The City of Claremont contracts with Republic Services to provide this service. Pick up is Wednesday mornings.
We ask that you have your garbage placed at the curb no later than 6:00 a.m., and remove the cans from the street by 6:30 p.m., on the same day.
Garbage should be bagged & placed in the City provided 95 gallon rolling container.
No bulk trash, leaves, shrub cuttings or limbs will be picked up by Republic Services. These items are picked up by City Staff on Mondays or by special appointment.
The City of Claremont contracts with Republic Service to pick up materials for recycling. Materials should be placed in the 95 gallon container, provided by the City, and placed at the curb every other Wednesday. If you do not have a recycle container please call City Hall, and they will arrange to have one dropped off by your home.
