Join us for the Annual Touch A Truck event hosted by the City of Claremont , Claremont Fire Department and Claremont Parks and Rec. Event will be held on Saturday, April 22, and will begin at 9 a.m. and run until 1 p.m. Bring your kids and those kids at heart and enjoy exploring all the different vehicles on display. Claremont Fire Department will have various equipment demonstrations during the day. There will be food being sold to benefit the Firefighters Burned Children's Center.

County’s Residential Household Hazardous Waste Collection Event to be held in the parking lot at Bandys High School on Earth Day, Saturday, April 22nd from 9am until 1pm. All types of general household hazardous waste, including electronics and paint will be accepted. Also, a Plastic Bag Recycling drop will be provided by Keep Catawba County Beautiful.

Officer Grant rushed to the aid of a fellow officer who was experiencing a medical issue. He controlled the situation with the suspect and called for medical back up. Thank you Officer Grant for your dedication to the Claremont Police Department and to your fellow officer.

Prysmian Group, located in Claremont’s International Business Park, recently announced a $20 Million expansion and the creation of 50 new jobs over the next three years. The expansion is facilitated in part by a $500,000 grant to the City of Claremont from the Building Reuse Program, under the Rural Development of the North Carolina Department of Commerce.
